Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Horrible officiating last night. Horrible.
However, I'm not a die hard Nebraska fan, but I pull for them in every single game. I've got my Nebraska Huskers' HAT way back from 1999 I think.. haha.. So, I've had some love...
Great game last night. Huskers' are getting better and better. Crazy ending though. But they fought back to beat a good Michigan team who choked a lot this year.
Good Job to the huskers'... now it's time to look forward to the Fiesta Bowl..with my IRish.... I bleed Blue and Gold...

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Good game by both squads. I wouldnt get caught up in all this Nebraska "hype". They are still an average team who beat a mediocre Michigan team. Callahan is trying to turn Nebraska into a finesse passing team. They need to go back to what Nebraska football is known for., and that is a power running game utilizing the option. Until they do that they will still continue to play in these "small" bowl games.

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Ron Turner from the bears would be the perfect coach for them, a west coast offense with a power run game. There are different variations of the WCO but Turner runs the hell out of the ball, nebraska would adjust better to that.

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
I'm with you....Red and White with the wishbone
-
Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Nebraska never ran the wishbone.....which takes us back to the fact that they would get crushed against teams with lots of speed. I dont know if Callahan's pass happy offense is the answer, but the wishbone isnt either.

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Great game by the Huskers they fought back but nearly lost it at the end of a crazy play. I gained a lot respect for Callahan after this game but I think they are far from being a powerhouse and I'm not sure the West Coast is the answer. The Wishbone definately isn't the answer. I think a spread option attack would be most fitting.

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
personally i dont think you can run the option as effect now as back in the 90's like they did
-
Re: To All Nebraska Fans
Why not? When ran accurately, and with the right personel it can still be carried out very effectively. Do you think Navy has superior players? I know they are not playing in the SEC, or ACC, but they do run the dives, option, and option pass extremely well. That is the whole key to making the option work is to complete it with a passing game so that the defensive backs must remain honest.

Re: To All Nebraska Fans
I was more or less saying go back to the power running game
-
Re: To All Nebraska Fans
A lot of teams run that spread option run attack. It can work and you will see power football come back I promise you. It's not that it can't work it is just nobody is willing to run 3 yards and a cloud of dust because it isn't fun and exciting and it doesn't sell tickets but it will always work and win games if you can get 3-4 yards a play you will score and win football games.
